What happens after cancellation?
We’ll be sorry to see you go. Once you’ve cancelled, we’ll send you an email and a secure message to confirm.
If this doesn’t come through, it’s likely your subscription is still active. To check, we recommend that you:
Check your junk and spam email folders.
Log in to your Checkmyfile account and go to ‘Conversations’ in the Help Centre.
If you still can’t see any signs of a cancellation code, let us know and we’ll take a look for you.
You'll still be able to log in after you've cancelled, during the period you've paid for.
This gives you the flexibility to reactivate and cancel your subscription as and when you need. If you want to see an updated report after you’ve cancelled, you’ll need to reactivate your subscription.
What happens to my open conversations?
If you cancel during your free trial, any open conversations you have will be automatically closed and considered solved. If you are a paid subscriber before cancelling, your open conversations will be closed at the end of the period you’ve paid for. This date will be highlighted on the cancellation screen.
What happens to my disputes when I cancel?
The same will happen to your disputes as it will to your conversations. If you decide to cancel your subscription during your free trial before your dispute has been raised, we won’t be able to continue with your request, so the dispute will be marked as closed. If you’re a paying subscriber, your dispute will only be raised if requested within your paid for period. If you raise a dispute once your subscription has come to an end, we won’t be able to raise this on your behalf.
But don’t worry, we’ll still continue with your dispute if it was raised before you cancelled your subscription.
My card has been cancelled but I’m still being charged
Regardless of whether your card has been replaced, lost stolen, broken or compromised, your card issuer will allow your recurring payments to continue as long as you have funds in the account.
Can I request a refund?
All our reports are bespoke to you and are updated daily at your request. We don’t provide refunds for any unutilised periods, but you can cancel today and still access the report for the period you've paid for.
How do I delete my account?
If you’d like to delete your account under the General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), let us know and we'll get this sorted for you. Make sure you've got everything you need from your account before you request to delete the data, as you’ll lose access to it once the GDPR request has been processed.
